About this pujo

The red-coloured Chhatubabu-Latubabu mansion on Beadon Street, famed for dressing the goddess in the family's heirloom Naulakha necklace.

This is one of Kolkata's bonedi bari (aristocratic household) Durga Pujas — celebrated privately inside a family thakurdalan rather than a public pandal. Visitors are welcome during the puja days; dress conservatively and ask permission before photographing family members. A typical visit takes about 30–45 min.

Planning your visit

Durga Puja 2026 runs from Maha Shashthi (Oct 16) through Vijaya Dashami (Oct 21). Bonedi bari pujas follow their own ritual timings — early morning or late afternoon is usually best to avoid crowds. Check the helpline numbers before you head out.
